Easy "How-To-Guide" for Fixing Cracks in Concrete Before Laying Tile

Materials and Tools Needed:

1. Bag of VersaBond Fortified Thin-Set Mortar (Grey)

2. Bucket of CureLastic 949 Elastomeric Anti-Fracture Membrane & Ceramic Tile Adhesive-Type 1 (white)

3. Smooth EdgeTrowel

Before you begin to patch the cracks in the concrete, use a mop or grout sponge to clean the area you will be patching. Use a shop-vac in the cracks to remove any debris.

Step One- For patching large cracks in the concrete, use a trowel to spread a smooth coat of thin-set over the cracked surface. Let the thin-set dry.

(NOTE: If you are covering small, thin cracks, step one is not necessary.) Go to Step 2

Step Two– Use a trowel to spread a thin, flat, smooth coat of “CureLastic 949,” approximately 18” wide over the cracks. Let the area dry, and you are ready to lay your tile.
